About Blackberry Pallet

Rooted in Virginia - Built on Quality

Since 1991, Blackberry Pallet has been manufacturing new hardwood pallets for businesses across Southwest Virginia. Our operation combines efficient automation with skilled, hands-on craftsmanship to deliver reliable pallet solutions that stand up to real-world demands.

We source fresh-cut hardwood directly from our neighbor and affiliate, Turman Lumber—part of The Turman Group family of companies. As a group, we’re proud to be certified Appalachian Hardwood Verified Sustainable. That means our raw materials come from responsibly managed forests growing at more than twice the rate of harvest and natural loss—based on U.S. Forest Service data.

Each piece of lumber is inspected by our team to ensure it meets the standards our customers count on. Whether it’s a standard build or a specialized order, every pallet is made to carry its load safely, efficiently, and with the durability hardwood is known for.

We don’t just meet ISPM 15 requirements—we partner with Timber Products Inspection to ensure our heat-treated pallets are certified, audited, and backed by full documentation. That means our international shipping customers get more than compliance; they get proven, reliable assurance. Every treated pallet is part of a process that’s monitored and verified—so you can ship with confidence and reduce the risk of delays, rejections, or fines.

As a local manufacturer, we take pride in helping our New River Valley neighbors move products safely and efficiently. We’re based in Christiansburg and deliver throughout the Southwest Virginia region.

The Turman Advantage — Vertical Integration

Total Control: RELIABLE PALLET SUPPLY AT SCALE

As a locally owned member of The Turman Group network, Blackberry Pallet operates with a supply advantage that few pallet manufacturers can match. We are not dependent solely on outside lumber brokers or disconnected supply channels. Our pallet production is supported by the Turman Group’s vertically integrated hardwood system, connecting timber resources, sawmill operations, lumber processing, and value-add manufacturing within one coordinated network.

That structure gives Blackberry Pallet greater control over material availability, production consistency, and custom pallet capability. Because we are tied directly into a larger hardwood products system, we can respond quickly to changing customer needs, support high-volume orders, and maintain dependable quality across standard and custom pallet programs. When you work with Blackberry Pallet, you are working with a pallet supplier backed by the capacity, resources, and coordination of the Turman Group.

What Does Vertical Integration Mean For You:

Vertical integration means that The Turman Group controls the process from start to finish — ensuring quality, consistency, sustainability, and competitive pricing. Logs harvested from responsibly managed

Appalachian forests are processed in Turman Group sawmills, transformed into high-quality lumber, and then into a variety of wood products, including the hardwood pallets we manufacture here at Blackberry Pallet.

Because every stage is handled within the Turman Group, we can:

  • Ensure sustainable sourcing and full chain-of-custody
  • Minimize waste by repurposing byproducts into mulch, pellets, or other products
  • Maintain strict quality standards at each production stage
  • Continuous intra-organization communications ensure scalability of production
  • Respond quickly to customer needs without relying on third-party suppliers
